Accomodation
Boarding quarters is a large 12ft x 10ft
ship lap wood shed. The shed floor has a warm hygienic cushion floor covering that can be easily cleaned. Electricity is installed to give lighting and other luxury comforts.
The shed has 6 windows to give natural light, 3 of the windows are openers so that in the warmer days fresh air will ventilate through the shed. It has double doors that will be opened when I am at home so the bunnies can see out into the garden. The shed will be securely locked up at night and when I am not there.
Guests will be kept cool in the summer with fans and kept warm in the winter with an electric convector heater that will be thermostatically controlled.
Music will be played throughout the day which will be nice and relaxing for the bunnies and other boarders.
Hutches are all 5ft x 2ft which will accomadate most sized rabbits.
The shed is situated between large tree's and lovely apple tree's which give it shading in the summer so it doesnt get too hot. We have a large back garden which is mainly laid to lawn. The area where the rabbits ect exercise is paved which is totally hygienic as can be swept and washed easily, this is also good for the rabbits claws.
Boarders are woken in the morning and given a check over to see if they are in need of anything i.e. food, hay, water.
Guests will always have a constant supply of their dried food and hay.
Tea time they will be fed treats and veggies.
Guests checked over before lights out at 10pm.
All hutches will be cleaned on a daily basis, any soiled bedding removed and changed. Guests will be given a daily health check. The floor will be swept and kept clean at all times. All worktops will be cleaned and sanitized daily.
Hutches will be thoroughly washed and sanitized out between each guest boarding. Water bottles, dishes ect will be thoroughly washed between guests.
There will be outdoor runs for the rabbits/guinea pigs to exercise in whilst staying weather permitting.
For boarders that are house pets (see below)
If hamsters, gerbils, rats, degus, mice or chinchillas are taken in then you must bring your own cage for them. Also chinchillas will need to be supplied with chinchilla sand for their sand baths.
I will provide wood shavings for their bedding, if anything different is required you must inform me to see if I can provide it. I can provide litter trays for the hutches as I find most rabbits use them. You may wish to bring their own litter tray and a toy or something that your pet loves as this sometimes helps to settle them in.
FEEDING
Please supply your own dried food as this will ensure no upset tummies in your pets. You can also supply any treats that your pet likes. Changing diets can lead to upset stomach disorders which can be fatal. I will supply plenty of hay, carrots/greens etc along with fresh drinking water for rabbits/guinea pigs. I will also supply treats for any other small animals such as ham, cheese, grapes, carrots, biscuits, apple, toast etc etc as I know rats in particular love them.
GENERAL
If your animal has any medical problems and needs medication then you must tell me. For the well being of your bunny and other bunny guests, it is advisable that he/she is vaccinated against Myxomatosis and Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (VHD) which are done yearly.
I will check your pet on arrival to see if it is in a good healthy condition. Whilst in my care I will carry out daily health checks for the well being of the animal. I can groom your pet and cut their claws up request.
